I had my first day of training at Dairy Queen yesterday. It was alright, all things considered. The person that I'm paired up for training is kinda slow which is good and bad. Good, since it makes me look awesome and bad since I have little patience for people who are slow (I'm evil that way). She never talks either and that sucks because I was hoping I could at least become somewhat acquainted with her so I have someone to hang out with while at work. But I did meet this other girl named Jessica who's my age and she seemed really nice.
As for what I did yesterday, I started off making ice cream sandwiches. You would not believe how specific they are when it comes to that kind of stuff. You have to make a base with the ice cream, then a second layer on top, and then you have to do the trademark "2-7-11" swirl or whatever. Then you have to weigh the sandwich and hope that it's between 2 1/2-3 ounces (preferably three) and if it isn't, you throw it out. As for dilly bars, which I also made, you have to use this weird metal clamp, fill it to the top with ice cream while making a small dent in the middle and then the twirly thing. That has to weigh about 2 1/2 ounces. Crazy.
I didn't do anything else worth mentioning other than cleaning and such. We ended up finishing all that was planned for the day an hour and a half early so it got kind of boring. I'm looking forward to being finished training because I don't like learning things at the rate that we're going which is really, really slow. If we went at a quicker pace I bet the training could be done in two days as opposed to four but what can you do. At least I'm getting paid =P
I'm feeling kinda gross today. Not sure why. Maybe it's because even though it's Houseday (aka Tuesday), there seems to be a lack of House in the TV guide. Not that I would've been able to watch it because of work but I would've taped it = ( Oh, sad. I guess I'll have to watch some of my season 1 DVDs to make up for it. I'm counting down until August 22 >_< Speaking of which, I got The Gun Seller yesterday =D Happy happy ^_^
Anyway, I'm off to make something caffeine-filled.
